GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave emerged victorious in Division II of the Champions Chess Tour Chess.com Classic 2024, showcasing his attacking prowess in a thrilling final match against GM Wesley So. Despite So’s valiant efforts to force a match reset, Vachier-Lagrave’s strategic play in the Grunfeld Defense secured him the win, along with $15,000, 50 tour points, and automatic entry into Division I of the next event.
