UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Plays Chess with FIDE-Rated Five-Year-Old, Assures Full Support

In a heartwarming gesture, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath played a game of chess with five-year-old FIDE-rated player Kushagra during a meeting in Gorakhpur. Kushagra, the youngest FIDE-rated player in the country with a rating of 1428, impressed CM Yogi with his exceptional talent and dedication to the game.

Kushagra, who started playing chess at the age of four, received initial training from his sister Avika, who is also a chess player. He quickly earned his FIDE rating within a year and has participated in various international tournaments to showcase his skills.

During their interaction at the Gorakhnath Temple, CM Yogi blessed Kushagra and assured him of the government’s full support to further his career in chess. The young prodigy, who is currently a student in UKG, sought the CM’s blessings and guidance to excel in the game.

In addition to meeting Kushagra, CM Yogi also attended a “Janata Darshan” at the temple premises, where he listened to the grievances of the people and directed officials to address their issues promptly. He assured financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses for those without an Ayushman card, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare access for all eligible individuals.
