Wesley So Holds Narrow Lead in Norway Chess 2026 After Thrilling Round Nine

Oslo, Norway – Grandmaster Wesley So remains at the top of the leaderboard in the Norway Chess 2026 tournament after a nail-biting round nine, but his lead has been trimmed to just half a point over rising star Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu. So faced off against the legendary Magnus Carlsen, managing to secure a draw before clinching an extra half-point in the subsequent armageddon match. Meanwhile, Praggnanandhaa continued his impressive run, completing a hat trick with a classical victory over World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju.
