Magic Chess: Go Go Unveils First Esports Event with APAC Launch

Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) has officially launched its “APAC Grand Launch,” making the free-to-play multiplayer strategy game available for download in several countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Developed by the original team behind MOONTON Games’ popular title Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), MCGG immerses players in the beloved MLBB universe, where they can command familiar heroes to create their ultimate forces on the chessboard.

In this new esports event, eight players will engage in Player versus Player (PvP) combat simultaneously, testing their real-time decision-making and strategies to emerge as the last strategist standing. The game’s focus on skill, strategy, and real-time decision-making makes it an excellent candidate for competitive play, with lower participation costs and barriers compared to other esports titles.

To kick off its esports endeavors, MCGG has announced the Magic Chess: Go Go Indonesia Community Tournament (MCCT ID), offering 512 players in Indonesia the chance to compete for a USD 5,100 prize pool. The tournament will be held online from 7 to 16 March, with live broadcasts of the Semifinals and Final matches.

Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games, expressed excitement about the game’s potential as an esports title and emphasized the company’s commitment to developing a competitive ecosystem for aspiring esports athletes. Players who excel in the tournament and aspire to become MCGG streamers will receive support from MOONTON Games to boost their livestream traffic.

Players in Indonesia can register for the MCCT ID from 27 February to 4 March on the official website. With the launch of this esports event, MCGG aims to provide a platform for players to showcase their skills, compete at a high level, and pursue their esports ambitions in the exciting world of Magic Chess: Go Go.
