“Daniel Naroditsky Claims Victory in Bullet Brawl Showdown Against Andrew Tang”

In a thrilling showdown between two of the quickest players in chess, Grandmasters Daniel Naroditsky and Andrew Tang went head-to-head in the latest edition of the Bullet Brawl tournament. Naroditsky emerged victorious, claiming his 12th title and the $400 first prize after scoring an impressive 247 points in the two-hour arena.

The competition was fierce, with ultra-bullet virtuoso Tang dominating the majority of the field to secure second place. Meanwhile, GM Oleksandr Bortnyk put up a strong performance to finish in third place with 198 points.

One of the standout moments of the event was when International Master Karina Ambartsumova finished in 22nd place with 86 points, earning $100 for being the highest-placed female finisher. Additionally, a new contender named “DRM_CHAMP3” won the community event by a convincing margin.

The next edition of Bullet Brawl is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at noon ET/18:00 CEST.

Naroditsky’s impressive victory in the Bullet Brawl comes ahead of his highly anticipated Team Chess Battle quarterfinal matchup, where he will team up with Grandmaster Robert Hess to take on the formidable duo of Grandmasters Peter Svidler and Jan Gustafsson.

In a field stacked with bullet titans, Naroditsky showcased his tactical prowess by dropping only two and a half points in the first hour of play. His closest rivals, Tang and Bortnyk, struggled to keep up with his relentless performance.

Despite facing tough competition, Naroditsky managed to maintain his dominance throughout the event, even defeating Bortnyk, one of the site’s top-rated bullet chess players, six out of seven times.

The event also highlighted the talent of junior players like GM Pranav Venkatesh and IMs Ediz Gurel and Andy Woodward, with Woodward impressing with wins over top players like Raunak Sadhwani and Rauf Mamedov.

With players like Naroditsky and Hikaru Nakamura continuing to dominate Bullet Brawl, the question remains: will a new generation of players be able to challenge the top dogs in future editions of the tournament?

Bullet Brawl is a weekly titled arena event on Chess.com that features top bullet specialists competing in a two-hour arena with a 1+0 time control. The tournament boasts a $1,000 prize fund and regularly attracts top GMs like Nakamura, Naroditsky, Tang, and more.
