2024 Women Programming Grant Cycle Announcement: Apply Now for Funding to Support Women and Girls in Chess

US Chess has exciting news for all chess enthusiasts, especially women and girls! The organization has announced the opening of the 2024 Women Programming Grant Cycle, aimed at supporting initiatives that educate, retain, and promote women and girls in chess.

Thanks to a partnership with the Saint Louis Chess Club, US Chess is able to offer grants ranging from $1000 to $10,000 to educational non-profits, public schools, and US Chess affiliates with non-profit status. The projects should be scheduled between September 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025, with the deadline for the first round of applications set for 5 PM CT on August 16, 2024.

US Chess is looking for projects that encourage participation from girls, women, and gender minorities, with the goal of attracting at least 50% participation from these groups. While chess workshops and tournaments are encouraged, the organization is open to creative ideas that promote the benefits of playing chess among women and girls.

To apply for the grant, interested organizations can fill out the application form available at https://forms.gle/apduX8L1zDJFmN9w8. Applicants must meet certain requirements, including being a non-profit organization, adhering to US Chess’s Safe Play Policy, and promoting the empowerment of girls and women in chess.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of a movement that aims to empower and promote women and girls in the world of chess. Get your applications in before the deadline and be a part of this exciting initiative!
