US Chess Seeks Creative Talent: Graphic Designer Position Now Open
St. Louis, MO – US Chess is on the lookout for a passionate and innovative Graphic Designer to join its dynamic Communications Department. This full-time, remote position offers a unique opportunity for creative professionals to contribute to the world of chess while working from anywhere in the continental United States.
The Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of US Chess, managing and directing all graphic and print design, social media assets, and promotional materials. A significant portion of the work—approximately 50%—will involve creating layouts and covers for the organization’s flagship publications, Chess Life and Chess Life Kids.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing Governance and Internal Documents: Collaborating with the Chess Life and Chess Life Kids editor to implement cohesive design approaches for essential documents, including the Delegates Call and Annual Report.
- Coordinating Visual Branding: Ensuring a consistent look across all US Chess print and electronic materials, such as letterheads, logos, and brochures.
- Event Support: Creating logos, forms, and other assets for US Chess events, including awards and trophies, while also assisting in the hiring of photographers and videographers.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong knowledge and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, as well as Canva. A keen eye for design and a passion for chess will set applicants apart in this competitive field.
Benefits and Salary
US Chess offers a comprehensive benefits package, including Paid Time Off, Health Insurance, and Retirement plans. The salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $55,000 per year.
