Abhay-Senthilkumar Aim to Extend Dominance at Asian Doubles Squash Championships

Sarawak, Malaysia – Defending champions Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar are set to kick off their campaign in the 3rd Asian Doubles Squash Championships, which begins on Thursday. The dynamic duo has been awarded the top seed in Pool A, with hopes of continuing their impressive run in the tournament.

Last year, Abhay showcased his versatility by clinching the mixed doubles title alongside the young prodigy Anahat Singh, who later went on to secure the women’s doubles crown with seasoned player Joshna Chinappa. However, Anahat will not be competing in Malaysia this week as she prepares for the upcoming World Junior Championships in Canada.

In the women’s doubles, Joshna is teaming up with Rathika Seelan, who are seeded second, while compatriots Janet Vidhi and Pooja Arthi hold the seventh seed in Pool B. Meanwhile, Joshna and Senthilkumar are also aiming for glory in the mixed doubles category, where they are seeded second, looking to improve upon their bronze-medal finish from the previous edition.

As the tournament unfolds, all eyes will be on Abhay and Senthilkumar as they strive to maintain their dominance in Asian squash.
