Mumbai Local Trains Delayed Due to Technical Glitch at Borivali Station

Mumbai, March 27, 2026 — Commuters faced significant delays on the Western line of Mumbai’s local train services this morning, as trains were running late due to a technical glitch at Borivali railway station. The disruption frustrated countless office-goers and morning commuters heading towards Churchgate.

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Mumbai Division of Western Railway addressed the situation on social media, acknowledging the inconvenience caused. “Dear passenger, your train got delayed due to technical failure at BORIVALI station. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the DRM posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Passengers took to social media to express their frustrations. One commuter, Manjul Vora, tweeted, “WHY IS THE 07.21 AM BVLI – CHGTE AT BVLI PF NO. 3 EVERYDAY LATE? MOVE THE 07.10 AM BHYDR LOCAL FROM PF 3 TO PF 4. NOT SURE IF IT IS FALLING ON DEAF EARS OR ARE YOU GUYS JUST TOO ADAMANT.”

Another frustrated passenger from Bhayandar shared, “The passengers’ troubles continue unabated. #WR’s fast local 90186 (7:40 AM from Bhayandar to Churchgate) departs late every day and arrived at Bandra at 8:40 today. Despite numerous complaints, no improvements have been made.”

The delays have become a recurring issue, with many commuters reporting that trains are consistently running 10 to 20 minutes late. One user lamented, “Today again delayed by 11 minutes. After laying of 5th and 6th line, trains are daily late by 10 to 15 minutes. Life was better before.”

As the morning rush hour unfolded, the frustration among commuters grew, with many calling for immediate action to rectify the ongoing delays. The Western Railway’s social media accounts have been inundated with complaints, highlighting the urgent need for improvements in service reliability.

The situation has raised questions about the infrastructure and operational efficiency of Mumbai’s local train services, which are vital for millions of daily commuters. As the city continues to grow, the demand for timely and efficient transport remains a pressing concern.

For updates on the situation, passengers are encouraged to follow the official accounts of Western Railway and the Ministry of Railways on social media.
