FIDE’s commitment to safety extends beyond power supply. The organization has reiterated that Cyprus is a secure location for international events, despite earlier missile strikes on a military base on the island. “Cyprus is a safe country to travel. There is no emergency situation, and the country continues to operate normally,” FIDE assured.

To further alleviate concerns, FIDE has outlined comprehensive contingency plans, stating, “We remain ready to respond promptly to any changes in circumstances, with the safety and comfort of players, officials, media, and guests as the top priority.” The hotel hosting the tournament is equipped with shelter facilities, ensuring that all participants have access to safety measures if needed.
